After robbing Ereshkigal, the Goddess of Death, Nerguiin’s greed gets her caught and thrown into Kur, the frozen prison for the lawbreakers of the Underworld.

With ash for food, sewage for drink, and no honeyed pastries to speak of, Nerguiin must contend with both the schemes of the prison bullies and the madness of her fellow inmates. All things considered, she’d much rather be back in Uruk.

As the mortal world still lies in the grip of a twenty-year drought, Nerguiin knows that she must somehow escape Kur, make her way back to the Golden City, and secure the rain-making Celestial Harp in Ereshkigal’s throne room.

Yet before, she had three good friends, a map, an immortal wish spirit, and most importantly, a plan. Now alone, stuck in the body of an eight-year-old ghost and bound in chains that sap her already meager strength, there is no one to help her.

One step from madness and despair, trapped in the worst place imaginable, and without any help, Nerguiin must face a horrifying conclusion: she’s all the mortal world’s got.

Nerguiin must rob a god. Again.
